At 11:40 on April 11, the hydrogen supply unit at the Fertilizer Production Department of Urumqi Petrochemical completed all operational procedures and produced qualified hydrogen. At 13:10, valves were opened to supply hydrogen to the oil refinery, marking a successful initial startup of the unit. The supply of hydrogen to refineries marks another step forward in the company’s efforts to optimize hydrogen supply methods, improve fuel quality, reduce production costs, overcome development barriers, and achieve higher-quality development. During the hydrogen supply maintenance work at Unit 1, in order to ensure that the maintenance tasks were carried out in accordance with the planned schedule, the Fertilizer Production Department promptly established a organization responsible for hydrogen delivery at Unit 1, mobilized everyone involved, unified their thinking, and assigned specific tasks and responsibilities based on the various maintenance plans. The Fertilizer Production Department takes into account the actual conditions of each facility to detail every aspect related to maintenance work, including risk identification, maintenance timelines, and quality and safety checks. It also provides training for all employees involved in the maintenance tasks, focusing on field operation skills, maintenance plans, maintenance documentation, proper maintenance practices, as well as safety procedures for work in high-risk environments such as those involving open flames. With a broad perspective and a focus on our own responsibilities, we have worked together with one heart to overcome difficulties. The Fertilizer Production Department strictly implemented the overall plan, steadily advancing various tasks such as equipment maintenance, inspection and testing, personnel training, and plant commissioning. In just 40 days, it completed a comprehensive overhaul of the hydrogen supply unit, enabling its smooth startup and the production of qualified hydrogen products. This effort played a crucial role in addressing the company’s shortage of hydrogen required for upgrading its fuel products, optimizing the utilization of resources at the first chemical plant, and implementing measures to improve efficiency and quality. Currently, the fertilizer production department is closely monitoring the operation of the equipment, initiating procedures to ensure continuous operation, organizing process optimizations and load adjustments, and addressing any issues that arise during operation, all in order to guarantee long-term stable operation after the plant starts up.
