At 20:09 on July 1, the waste heat steam generator set in the thermal power department of Zhongtian Hechuang Chemical’s subsidiary plant was successfully connected to the grid for power generation. The waste heat steam power generation project at the branch office is a project that uses the excess medium and low-pressure steam generated during the production process as fuel for power generation. The total investment in the project is 77 million yuan; it can produce 640,000 tons of steam per year, generate 120 million kWh of electricity, and create economic benefits of around 62 million yuan. It avoids significant energy waste resulting from the release of large amounts of steam, while also enabling power generation to yield substantial economic benefits. The project commenced in November 2020, and tasks such as civil construction, frame reinforcement, equipment installation, and pipeline work were carried out. By early June, preparations such as pipeline purging and the supply of power for plant operations were completed. After 19 months of construction, the project was successfully finalized on June 10, 2022. After the handover of the waste heat project, the Thermal Power Department established a task force dedicated to getting the plant up and running; they worked overtime continuously to address the issues identified through the three inspections and four determinations, to expedite the completion of the remaining project tasks, to continuously improve the on-site signage, and to organize training for staff. Following a joint inspection by the branch company, it was confirmed that the plant was ready for operation. Preparations to start the turbine spin-up will begin on the 29th. At 12:45, it was successfully brought up to 3000 r/min, and the waste heat steam generator set was started successfully on its first attempt.
