I’m new to hydrogenation refining, and from the process diagrams I can see that the sulfur-containing wastewater resulting from the separation of high and low boiling points substances is sent to the sulfiding agent tank. Why is that? What are the components of sulfur-containing wastewater?

The main components to be analyzed in wastewater are these; the rest is simply wastewater, which of course goes to the sulfiding agent tank

Yes, they said it’s to reduce equipment costs, as the sulfiding agent is only used in the initial stage. So, the sulfur-containing wastewater generated later is mixed with deionized water in the sulfiding agent tank and then injected into the system; after a few cycles, it is sent to wastewater treatment. That’s what they said.
Sulfur-containing wastewater cannot be used as reaction water either; the SN and other substances removed in the initial stage end up returning to the system. Doesn’t this pose a risk of corrosion to the equipment, pipelines, and the final products? The problem of corrosion is becoming increasingly serious, so it must be taken into consideration
