I understand what it means to adjust the adsorption time in a PSA unit, but what does adjusting the operating coefficient entail?
The adjustment coefficient is used to modify the adsorption time; an increase in the K coefficient leads to an increase in the adsorption time, while a decrease in it results in a reduction in the adsorption time
The operating coefficient is the reflux ratio; by adjusting the amount of hydrogen used for reflux, more hydrogen results in a shorter adsorption time, higher purity, and a lower recovery rate.
PSA: We generally make few automatic adjustments on our end. The adjustment coefficient plays a role in automatic control, correcting errors in the adsorption time; it automatically adjusts the appropriate adsorption time based on the purity of hydrogen, and an online hydrogen analyzer is required for this. But on our end, the adsorption time is set by us, based on the fishnet diagrams and the data from sample analysis.
