To identify the reasons for the decrease in the purity of circulating hydrogen, there are generally several possibilities: (1) a decrease in the purity of the new hydrogen; (2) a high temperature after cooling in the high-pressure air cooler; (3) a high reaction temperature and high degree of reaction, although this also leads to a decrease in system pressure; (4) a low amount of water injected at high pressure, resulting in a high ammonia content in the circulating hydrogen and a large circulation volume. For these four situations, it is necessary to determine the underlying causes and take appropriate measures.
