Why is it said that new hydrogen determines the system pressure, while recycled hydrogen determines the hydrogen-to-oil ratio?
The hydrogen-to-oil ratio is adjusted by the amount of recycled hydrogen; therefore, the recycled hydrogen determines the hydrogen-to-oil ratio.
The system pressure is controlled by the amount and flow rate of fresh hydrogen (supplementary hydrogen).
Hydrogen-to-oil ratio = Circulating hydrogen (Nm3/h) / Feed oil (m3/h). The amount of hydrogen added determines the system pressure (primarily due to hydrogen consumption by the oil, with additional hydrogen being supplied)
