For air coolers, especially high-pressure air coolers, should the variable-frequency fan be placed on the outlet side of the air cooler’s tube bundle or on the inlet side? Are there any considerations regarding the placement location?
It’s best to send a simple diagram; it’s more intuitive to understand things by looking at a picture. The location should take into account the environment to which the fan motor is exposed, such as high temperatures, high humidity, and factors that may cause corrosion of the equipment. The inlet and outlet of the air cooler are generally on the same side, with air entering from above and exiting from below. The variable-frequency fan is located on the side near the entrance and exit.
Fixed frequency is used at the high-temperature inlet, while variable frequency is used at the low-temperature outlet. Variable frequency fans are primarily designed to adjust the outlet temperature; it is not necessary to use them at full capacity, which helps to maintain a stable temperature and saves energy.
