Is there any domestic hydrogen cracking of fluidized bed residue? How is it performing? How does its efficiency compare to that of fixed-bed or coking? ?
Research in this area has been ongoing in China. The Fuyan Research Institute started working on this quite early; a friend of mine said that they have already installed two systems, and the performance of those systems seems to be good! It’s completely incomparable to coking; a fixed-bed system simply won’t work. Additionally, a few years ago Shenyang Luhua installed a residue hydrocracking unit from American Ruums; the technology wasn’t very mature at that time. It has been in operation for five or six years, during which time it has been continuously upgraded, and it should be functioning properly now. The main idea is to check out the dewaxing process for this project, and then contact the Fuyan Research Institute!
