In the newly installed hydrogenation units within the company, water was originally injected at the high-pressure heat exchanger E103 as part of the original design, in order to cool the reaction products. However, after operations started, excessive temperatures were observed in that area, which required the injection point to be moved to a location with higher temperatures. Yet currently, there is no injection point available at heat exchanger E102, which is where the higher temperatures occur. It is the end drain for DN20. Can the water injection point be connected to this drain point in order to carry out water injection?
No, the water injection points are specifically designed with a special structure; using a drain line for water injection would create a serious hazard. Never do this, or you will only be causing trouble for yourself
