The boiling range of the diesel analysis sample on the second day was 220–350°C (with the specified 95% point not exceeding 370°C); its flash point was 75. The diesel met the standards, but it was of lower quality. What is being asked is: 1. If I mix these two types of diesel together, will the density of the resulting diesel be an average of the two? Is the overall diesel fraction a compromise? A possible compromise could be: 225–370°C? Is it still the one with the lowest initial boiling point of 220–370°C? Is the flash point of the blended diesel a compromise? Could it be 80? Is it still the lowest 75? The compromise referred to here does not mean exactly half, but rather something in between
It’s best to have it analyzed after adding the mixture; it’s not easy to calculate this, as most methods rely on empirical formulas that may not be accurate and can only serve as a reference. Additionally, you don’t know the mixing ratio either!
