【Q&A Question 014】January 14, 2018: What are the reasons for excessive pump power consumption? The traffic is too high ; The outlet pressure is too high ; The liquid temperature is low or its viscosity is very high ; Mechanical failures, such as misalignment of the two shafts, shaft bending, and wear of the wear rings. (Unless otherwise specified, all questions and answers are based on hydrogenation units.) ) Due to the limits on the number of posts in the “One Question per Day” section, “One Image per Day” has been moved to the registered devices section; you can access it through the directory I posted. 1) The total head does not match the pump’s head; 2) The density and viscosity of the medium do not match the original design ; 3) The pump shaft is not aligned with the axis of the prime mover or is bent ; 4) There is friction between the rotating part and the fixed part ; 5) Impeller mouth ring wear ; 6) Improper installation of the seal or mechanical seal.
Current overload. Increased traffic leads to reduced efficiency
The traffic is too high; The outlet pressure is too high ; The liquid temperature is low or its viscosity is very high ; Mechanical failures, such as misalignment of the two shafts, shaft bending, and wear of the wear rings
1) The total head does not match the pump’s head; 2) The density and viscosity of the fluid differ from those specified in the original design; 3) The pump shaft is not aligned with the axis of the driving motor or is bent; 4) There is friction between the rotating parts and the fixed parts; 5) The impeller’s mouth ring is worn out; 6) Improper installation of the seal or mechanical seal

overload; The outlet valve is closed ; The installation is not aligned. . .
Impeller damage; The medium density increases, etc
1 The relative density and viscosity of the liquid being transported exceed the values specified in the original design. 2 The impeller size is too large. The 3 pump and motor are not aligned. 4 There is friction between the rotating parts and the stationary parts. 5 The bearings are worn or damaged. 6 The filler is not installed correctly. 7 The mechanical seal exerts too much pressure on the seal seat. The 8-axis seal gland is tightened too much. 9 Improper bearing lubrication. 10-axis bending. 11 The impeller or pump casing area is blocked by solid debris. 12 Impeller damaged.
