Are there any standard materials or methods for determining safety valve leaks?

We determine it based on the temperatures at the inlet and outlet of the safety valve; I’m not aware of any other methods
Attach a blind flange to the flange port, make a small hole in the center, and use a foaming agent to determine whether there is a leak.
It’s risky to do this if the safety valve is in use, right?
I wonder if it would be feasible to install a pressure gauge between the safety valve outlet and the outlet manual valve.
