【Q&A Question 084】March 25, 2018: How to prevent noise in the design of diesel hydrogenation units? The main sources of noise in such units include compressors and their corresponding drive motors, pumps, air coolers, and heating furnaces. The following measures should be taken accordingly to reduce noise. (1) For pumps, safety-rated motors with low noise should be preferred. (2) Low-speed fans are used in the air coolers to keep the noise level below 85 decibels. (3) The heating furnace is equipped with low-noise burners, and the air ducts are fitted with insulation and soundproofing materials. (4) Silencer covers are installed on the large motors used for the hydrogen feed pump and the fresh hydrogen compressor. (5) Silencers are installed at all emission points where noise is likely to be generated. (Unless otherwise specified, all questions and answers are based on hydrogenation units.) ) Due to the limits on the number of posts in the “One Question per Day” section, “One Image per Day” has been moved to the registered devices section; you can access it through the directory I posted.
