Are there any specific requirements regarding the size order of the ceramic balls filled in the reactor? Why?
The catalyst is on top, and the ceramic balls are at the bottom; they should be smaller first and larger later. In this way, the catalyst will not leak down.
The packing of each layer of catalyst is roughly similar, from bottom to top: coarse, medium, fine. The specific diameter to be used is determined by the manufacturer or design institute; after that, the catalyst is loaded. Once that is done, the particles are reloaded in accordance with the specified size, and this process is repeated for each layer – the procedure for loading the other layers is similar.
