When switching a VPSA water ring vacuum pump, it is possible to close the inlet and outlet valves, open the outlet valve, gradually open the inlet valve of the standby pump that has been started, and gradually close the inlet valve of the pump that is currently in operation, until the desired vacuum level is achieved; at that point, the inlet valve of the pump that was originally in operation will be fully closed. I would like to ask whether such a switching operation is possible?
Yes, our vacuum pumps are all switched in this way; otherwise, having the inlet and outlet wires connected together will affect the system’s vacuum level
But some people say that if only the inlet valve is used for control, excessive negative pressure can affect the safety of the equipment
