In U-tube heat exchangers, the welds connecting the tube sheet to the tube bundle crack repeatedly; the fluids used are refined diesel and deoxygenated water along with 1.0 MPa steam. There is an issue with the material of the tube sheet; it is recommended to replace it with material of grade 304 or higher. It seems that the side exposed to deoxygenated water has suffered damage due to temperature effects or phase changes between gas and liquid. One of our preheaters, which is heated by steam, also has cracked tube sheets and leakage points
