I remember that no water is needed; it’s not required when using low-nitrogen diesel, but is water needed when switching to paraffin oil? What is the usual water temperature used? Thank you, teachers
First, understand the purpose of water injection: it is used to prevent ammonium salts from crystallizing and blocking the pipes, as the presence of ammonia can reduce the effectiveness of the refining agents! Sulfidation is further divided into dry and wet methods. In the dry method, as far as I know, passivation is not required, so no water is used. During wet vulcanization, the method of vulcanization is different, but water is added in all cases. It’s just meant to serve as a starting point to spark further discussion

Our pre-sulfidation of diesel hydrogenation catalysts does not involve the use of water, as the sulfurizing oil consists of hydrogenated diesel and straight-run diesel, which have favorable properties, primarily due to their low nitrogen content. Also, as mentioned above, the amount of water generated during sulfidation is one of the criteria for determining the degree of sulfidation.
