Where does the desorbed gas from the PSA unit of the dry gas/natural gas hydrogen production plant go? Have you ever encountered, in the process units where gas is analyzed and sent to the conversion furnace for combustion, a situation where the PSA flushing control valve could not be closed properly, resulting in an interlock shutdown of the conversion furnace? What are the common interlocks in a converter? Which manufacturers produce good PSA programmable valves? Should they be butterfly type or globe type?
Our company also has a set of PSA systems; the exhaust gas pressure is around 20-30 KPA, and it is used in an internal vacuum furnace for processing. Among the leading domestic brands of PSA programmable valves are Tianyi and Huaxi; both seem to be of good quality with similar manufacturing standards. However, Huaxi is slightly superior as a valve manufacturer. Huaxi has a subsidiary called Huake, which excels in the production of high-pressure PSA valves – many 50-kilogram grade valves in China are produced by this company. The purge gas flows to the furnace at the back; there is first a purge gas buffer tank, followed by an air pressure control valve. There are also control valves behind the buffer tank. With so many safety measures in place, an interlock should not occur under normal conditions. Moreover, programmable valves have high reliability; as long as proper maintenance is carried out, there are basically no issues with them – they are extremely durable.
A poorly sealed programmable valve can indeed cause the conversion furnace to overheat, triggering interlocks due to high analysis gas pressure and negative pressure in the conversion furnace.
May I ask which company’s flush valve (reverse-flow valve) your company uses? Have there been any failures with your company’s programmable valves?
