With the development of the hydrogen industry in China, hydrogenation skids for gas pipelines have also been gradually adopted, enabling research on hydrogen blending and the establishment of various industry standards. Natural gas hydrogenation, as the name suggests, involves adding hydrogen to natural gas pipelines in order to make use of it. Process flow: Typically, hydrogen is delivered to the natural gas station in tankers at a pressure of 20 MPA. It is then connected to a hydrogen skid via hoses, and the skid adjusts the pressure of the hydrogen from the tankers to a certain value (slightly higher than the pressure in the natural gas pipeline), thereby ensuring smooth hydrogen blending operations. After the hydrogen outlet and natural gas converge, they are thoroughly mixed using a static mixer before being sent to the downstream pipeline network. The volume ratio of hydrogen addition at home and abroad ranges from 10 to 30%. The hydrogen sled features adjustable flow rate, pressure cutoff at extremely high levels, and remote monitoring capabilities. During hydrogen unloading, its hydrogen skid and tank truck are connected by a 5-meter-long hose equipped with anti-swing devices and an anti-wear coating, ensuring safety in use and extending its service life. The static jumper of the skid is connected to the grounding point of the tank truck. Then open the exhaust valve to the hydrogen skid inlet valve, and activate the manual venting to remove all air from the pipeline, ensuring the purity of the hydrogen mixture while also considering safety. Open the valve again to allow hydrogen to enter the hydrogen skid, and start mixing hydrogen into the natural gas pipeline. Adjust the valve opening according to the actual required dosage to meet the flow rate. Pressure can be adjusted using a control valve. To prevent backflow caused by pressure differences, a check valve must be installed before natural gas and hydrogen meet. Considering factors such as hydrogen embrittlement, materials such as S30603 or those with good compatibility with hydrogen are commonly used. When releasing hydrogen under reduced pressure, it is recommended to use valve internals resistant to erosion in order to ensure their sealing performance and lifespan. High-pressure pipelines are connected using CT or ferrule connections, and current domestic products also meet the requirements for such operating conditions.
