How to calculate the waste hydrogen emission from hydrogenation units
Check the exhaust hydrogen flow meter of your own device; if there isn’t one, determine whether the device is equipped with a flow meter. If none of these are available, the amount of additional hydrogen added can be estimated by checking the valve position. When none of the above methods work, one has to calculate by hand. Total hydrogen added back = Chemical hydrogen consumption + Leaked hydrogen + Dissolved hydrogen + Released hydrogen.
