“It’s so exciting! Less than 30 days after resuming operation following maintenance, the total yield of jet fuel and diesel from our plant reached a record high. ”Zhang Huayang, a process engineer at Yunnan Petrochemical’s Refining Department 2, said excitedly. On February 12, the overall yield of jet fuel and diesel from the hydrocracking unit in Unit 2 of Yunnan Petrochemical’s refining facility increased by 15% compared to before the maintenance. The improvement in the plant’s yield is attributed to the optimized selection of catalysts during maintenance periods, as well as the systematic maintenance of key equipment. After multiple rounds of discussions and thorough evaluations, a catalyst solution that best meets the production requirements of Yunnan Petrochemical was ultimately determined, without the need to modify any equipment. Based on the operational data, the overall yields of aviation fuel and diesel have reached record levels; specifically, the peak yield of aviation fuel increased by 13.6%, while the total yields of liquefied gas and light naphtha decreased, indicating an effective increase in the added value of these products. Furthermore, the hydrocracking unit has also achieved improvements in all three aspects: efficiency, quality, and energy consumption. Thanks to the full utilization of the reaction heat from the new catalyst, the fuel gas consumption per unit of processed material has decreased by 13% compared to the previous cycle; hydrogen consumption also dropped accordingly. It is estimated that more than 17 million cubic meters of hydrogen can be saved each year.
