Is it an exhaust gas furnace or a sulfur production furnace? In the case of a sulfur production furnace, under normal conditions the gas is not burned, and it can be removed for cleaning ; If it is an exhaust furnace, then the processing volume needs to be reduced
Before shutting down the plant to remove acidic gases, gas must be introduced into the gas burners in the sulfur production furnace for sulfur blowing; if these burners become clogged, the sulfur blowing process cannot proceed. I mean, is there a way to handle it online?
For exhaust gas incinerators and hydrogen-based online reduction furnaces, it is possible to shut down the furnace for online cleaning once the burners get clogged; however, online cleaning of furnaces handling acidic gases can be difficult, and it may also be hard to clear blockages using nitrogen.
The key is to properly treat the fuel gas in order to ensure long-term stable operation; otherwise, only temporary solutions can be achieved.
The sulfur production furnace doesn’t use gas under normal conditions; could sulfur condensation cause blockages? Can it be melted away by using steam?
A similar situation occurred during our last shutdown; the gas line of the sulfur production furnace was blocked, with sulfur accumulating all over it. After cutting off the acidic gas line, we simply removed the blockage using steel pipes, as steam wasn’t sufficient to dissolve it
It cannot be handled now; one has to wait until the operation is stopped to deal with it. When handling it, an industrial air supply and fuel gas burner can be added, so that it can be used at a lower intensity during normal operation, preventing the burner from getting clogged
High temperatures in the sulfur production furnace generally do not cause sulfur blockages; purging should be carried out during normal shutdowns. Have encountered other cases where the sulfur condenser was blocked
The shutdown was not carried out in accordance with the standard procedures; a proper purging period of 48 hours was not observed
