To hydrolyze COS, the furnace temperature must be increased, which leads to peroxide combustion and results in a very small ratio. Since the operating conditions are not normal at present, the concentrations of H2S and SO2 cannot be assessed. The on-site ratio analyzer uses the ultraviolet method, with pure oxygen as the supply gas, and the process gas also contains a high amount of moisture. The gas cylinder sampling laboratories sometimes are unable to measure the H2S and SO2 concentrations. I plan to use glass test tubes for sampling and analysis. I wonder whether process gas with a high water content will have an impact on the detection of H2S using lead acetate glass test tubes, and if so, to what extent? It is not recommended to raise the furnace temperature excessively, as this may increase the load on the catalytic reaction section after the temperature is raised, thereby affecting the overall sulfur recovery rate. The hydrolysis of CS2 and COS in the catalytic section can be carried out in a catalyst bed with a higher temperature in the upper part of the first-order reaction zone. I don’t know which brand of ratio analyzer you are using? Spectral analysis is recommended for data sampling.
