On September 20, reporters learned that the green ammonia produced from biomass natural gas at Daqing Refining and Chemical Company has successfully passed the International Sustainable Development and Carbon Certification (ISCC), earning it China’s first ISCC PLUS certification for green ammonia produced from biomass natural gas. As a result, Daqing Refining and Chemical Company became the third enterprise in China to hold such an ISCC certification for green ammonia. This marks international recognition of the sustainability of the full life cycle of Daqing Refining and Chemical’s green ammonia products, enabling Daqing Refining and Chemical to obtain a \"green label\" for selling its green ammonia products in international markets. As a zero-carbon fuel and energy carrier, green ammonia is primarily used in five areas: reducing carbon emissions in coal-fired power generation, as a fuel for shipping, as an industrial raw material, in agricultural fertilizers, and for the storage and transportation of hydrogen. Its production materials and process characteristics make it an important technical tool for achieving carbon neutrality goals. In recent years, Daqing Refining & Chemical has focused on **its own needs, industry trends, and the urgency of transformation, by proactively developing green industries and continuously creating a new paradigm for transformation and upgrading that features high-end capabilities, intelligence, and sustainability. On October 15, 2024, the Daqing Refining and Chemicals project for producing green methanol from biomass natural gas successfully passed the International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC), obtaining China’s first ISCC certificate for fermentation processes. The successful certification represents another significant breakthrough for Daqing Refining & Chemical in obtaining international certification for the production of green products from biomass natural gas. The two certifications complement each other strategically, together forming a portfolio of green products based on \"green alcohol\" and \"green ammonia\". This not only promotes the efficient utilization of regional resources such as wind, solar energy, and biomass, but also provides data models and practical examples that can serve as a reference for the widespread and large-scale development of green industries in China.
