The acidic water stripping unit and the ammonia extraction via side stream are operating normally based on the current parameters of the tower: 40°C and 0.5 Mpa(g) at the top of the tower, and 160°C and 0.55 Mpa(g) at the bottom. The side-line withdrawal amount is about 10% of the feed. The ammonia nitrogen level in the purified water at the bottom of the tower is 10 ppm, while the sulfide level is around 70 ppm. What is the reason?
Yes, but this is the condition before adding the alkaline solution; after adding it, the sulfide level increases by about 10 units, while the ammonia nitrogen level decreases even more.
Try lowering the tower top pressure a bit
