Mixed acidic gases (clean acidic gases and aminoacid-containing acidic gases) are mixed with low-pressure steam and fed into the sulfur production furnace. What is the role of the low-pressure steam?
In emergency situations where the bed temperature needs to be reduced, nitrogen is generally the better choice, as poor control of steam can lead to carbon buildup in the bed.
