When the flue gas furnace is being ignited and heated, if there is no steam flowing in the superheater, the temperature inside the equipment can rise rapidly, which may lead to overheating of the materials and damage to components such as the superheater tubes. Generally, during the startup and heating-up process, the following measures should be taken to ensure the safe operation of the superheater: 1. Start the steam cycle of the superheater as early as possible; even if no steam is generated in the sulfur production section, a small amount of steam should be introduced from other parts of the system for circulation, in order to avoid the risk of dry burning inside the superheater. 2. Control the heating rate of the exhaust gas furnace to prevent too rapid temperature increases, and monitor the temperature of the superheater to ensure it does not exceed the design-approved upper limit. 3. Appropriately adjust the combustion condition and flue gas flow rate of the exhaust furnace, and use operational measures to reduce the impact on the heat load of the superheater. 4. If the equipment design permits, the superheater can be cooled and protected during the ignition and heating phase through water spraying or other cooling methods. In industrial operations, different factories may have varying startup procedures and safety measures, but they are all designed to ensure the safe operation of the superheaters. Therefore, the key is to strictly follow the safety startup procedures in accordance with the design of the specific process equipment and the instructions in the operation manual.
