Tulsion® T-42 H resin is a homogeneous, strong-acid cation exchange resin; the following are its specific details: Basic properties Main structure: cross-linked polystyrene. Physical form: moist sphere. Functional group: sulfonic acid group. Ionic form: hydrogen (H+). Particle size: The maximum particles smaller than 0.3 mm account for no more than 1%, the average particle size is 0.58±0.05 mm, and the coefficient of variation is at most 1.5. Total exchange capacity: At the hydrogen ion form, at least 2.0 milliequivalents per milliliter. Moisture content: approximately 53% in the form of hydrogen ions. pH range: 0 to 14. Coefficient of expansion: about 7% from the sodium ion form to the hydrogen ion form. Density: 800–840 g/L in the form of hydrogen ions, and 830–870 g/L in the form of sodium ions. Allowable temperature: Up to 120°C in the form of hydrogen ions. Solubility: Insoluble in all common solvents. Operating conditions Maximum operating temperature: 120°C. Operating pH range: 0-14. Minimum resin bed height: 800mm. Maximum service flow rate: 120 m³/hr/m³. Backwash water volume: 9 to 25 m³/hr/m³. Backwash expansion volume: 40 to 75%. Regeneration reagent: Hydrochloric acid (HCl) or sulfuric acid (H₂SO₄), used for regeneration in the form of hydrogen ions. Amount of reagent used: 30 to 160 g/L for hydrochloric acid, and 40 to 250 g/L for sulfuric acid. Regeneration agent concentration: 3-5% for hydrochloric acid, and 1.5 to 5% for sulfuric acid. Minimum regeneration agent application time: 20 minutes. Regeneration flow rate: 5 to 16 m³/hr/m³. Slow washing water: at least 2 bed volumes (BV). Rinse water: service flow rate.
