Ethanol is classified as a Class A liquid and is flammable; its vapors can form explosive mixtures with air. A closed pipeline system should be used for unloading it into storage tanks.
For flammable liquids of Class A B, Class B, and Class C A, the trench unloading system is strictly prohibited. For flammable liquid media prone to static electricity accumulation, loading by top spraying is strictly prohibited. For Class A B and Class B A liquid media, a top-sealed cap-type submerged impactor with a return air pipeline should be used; the end of the vertical tube shall be equipped with a diverter, and the vertical tube must be lowered to the bottom of the tank before filling.
