I would like to ask fellow sailors: for a hydrogen peroxide storage tank with a capacity of 2000 cubic meters, should it be an internal floating roof type or an arch roof type? I’ve checked many standards but found no clear explanation; I hope someone can help answer this question. Thank you
For a hydrogen peroxide storage tank with a capacity of 2000 cubic meters, should it be an internal floating roof tank or an arch-shaped roof tank? I think the key is to determine the fire hazard level of hydrogen peroxide; if the fire hazard of the substance stored is classified as Class C or higher, then according to current regulations, an internal floating roof tank is required.
Hydrogen peroxide has strong oxidizing properties, but its fire hazard is not high, right? It is recommended to adopt a fixed roof with a nitrogen seal.
I have clients who have chosen 200L plastic tanks with two small openings; one of these openings is fitted with a vented lid, for your reference :)
