Experts, regarding the condensate generated by steam tracing in storage tanks, I believe there should be no bypass installed
Depending on the situation, a bypass should be installed to prevent the steam trap from failing.
It is necessary; when putting the steam trap into use, the flanges at the front and back must be removed or a bypass line must be used for drainage first, before the steam trap can be activated!
If a bypass is added, will steam easily enter the condensate system?
Yes, otherwise the drain valve will get clogged frequently later on
The petrochemical piping specifications state that bypasses should not be installed, but in practice some installations use one unit as the active one and another as a backup, while others plan to install three! Can a bypass be used as a substitute for a steam trap? The performance is terrible……
