What size is generally appropriate for the largest asphalt storage tanks in China nowadays? With a planned capacity of 20,000 to 30,000 cubic meters, is it better to use tanks with a capacity of 5,000 cubic meters or 10,000 cubic meters? For asphalt storage tanks, should mixing be carried out from above the tank or from its side walls?
It depends on your team’s workflow requirements! For example, in the case of large-scale transfer warehouses where tens of thousands of tons are handled per transaction, storage tanks with a capacity of 1,000 cubic tons would be used. If large quantities are to be handled in small batches, several small storage tanks will be needed; a 5,000-cubic-meter tank will suffice. For example, if you go for large storage tanks, sometimes others only need a few hundred tons of asphalt – in that case, it’s not cost-effective to heat the large tanks even once! Based on the storage capacity you mentioned, it seems that large quantities are stored in and small quantities are taken out. For a storage capacity of 20,000 tons, we usually use 3 tanks with a capacity of 5,000 cubic meters each, 2 tanks with a capacity of 2,000 cubic meters each, and 2 tanks with a capacity of 500 cubic meters each. This arrangement allows us to meet various needs.
