Our company is a chlor-alkali manufacturer; in its daily operations, it uses chlorine-alkali absorption towers to treat chlorine gas emissions, as well as the acid mist generated during the storage of hydrochloric acid and its handling. Currently, some facilities use absorption devices for waste chlorine gas to handle both waste chlorine gas and hydrochloric acid mist together. Sir, is this okay? It is not specified in GB/T31856-2015. Thank you!

In fact, water is sufficient for absorbing hydrochloric acid mist; it’s just necessary to regularly analyze the acidity of the water used for absorption to ensure that the absorption process is effective and reliable. When the acidity reaches a certain level (which can be determined through experimentation), it is sent to the wastewater treatment plant to participate in the wastewater treatment process
For hydrochloric acid exhaust gases, they are absorbed using water and alkaline solutions; chlorine exhaust gases are absorbed with alkalis. My brother used to work in the chlor-alkali industry as well.
