Chinese enterprises need standardization not only in equipment management; in line with the principles of systems thinking, production processes, quality, safety, and environmental protection all require unified standards. In the past, management was reactive, and workers responded in a similar reactive manner. Logically, personnel on the production site should not only carry out the manufacturing processes correctly during operation, but also ensure quality control, maintain the equipment properly, and always pay attention to safety and environmental protection. We won’t pay attention to certain aspects just because someone is coming to inspect or because a certain department has stricter oversight. Rather, all aspects of the requirements should be met in a comprehensive and integrated manner. Therefore, designing a standardized operational system for the entire production site is the fundamental solution to breaking away from the past intermittent situation.
That’s indeed the case. It is still not possible to address production processes, quality, safety, and environmental protection simultaneously; often, one aspect is neglected at the expense of another.
Comprehensive management and systematic management are the right approaches.
