Recently, the world’s only detachable Terex 3,200-ton CC8800-1TWIN crawler crane owned by Huahua Construction Company has been carrying out lifting operations at the Zhong’an Coal Chemical Project in Huainan, Anhui, in an orderly manner. It is expected that after the Spring Festival, it will be used to lift the largest piece of equipment at this project – a distillation tower that is about 90 meters high and weighs around 1,000 tons. The 3200-ton CC8800-1TWIN crawler crane, designed and manufactured in Germany by Terex, is Terex’s top-tier crawler crane. Currently, as one of the most advanced crawler cranes in the world, it has a maximum lifting torque of 43,900 ton·m. It consists of two arms, with a total weight of 4,908 tons; its maximum lifting capacity is 3,200 tons. It can also be broken down into a 1,600-ton crawler crane, offering great versatility. Only 5 units of this type exist worldwide. What differs from what was purchased by Huajian Company is that its 3,200-ton crawler crane can also be disassembled into a 1,600-ton crawler crane, which is the only one of its kind in the world. It is reported that, with the trend toward larger-scale, more massive, and modular construction in the petrochemical industry, the advantages of on-site assembly and overall lifting of large equipment have become increasingly prominent. Construction companies that specialize in building petrochemical facilities are taking on an ever greater number of large-scale construction projects. To further meet construction requirements and enhance its competitiveness in the market, the company has successively acquired large-scale lifting equipment with capacities of 600 tons, 1,250 tons, and 3,200 tons. At present, the company’s level of mechanical equipment, particularly its capability for lifting large-scale equipment, ranks among the top in China’s petrochemical construction industry.
