Is it necessary to use an under-liquid loading arm when unloading Class A B, Class B, and Class C A liquids in tanks with a capacity of 30 cubic meters or less? According to GB50160-2008, in the section on storage and transportation facilities: 6.4.2 Automotive loading and unloading stations for flammable liquids shall comply with the following requirements: “For the loading of Class A B, Class B, and Class C A liquids, submersible loading nozzles shall be used” ; ” Question 1: Can low-temperature tank assemblies with an individual volume of 30 cubic meters or less be defined as storage and transportation facilities? Should it still be defined as a plant tank bank? Question 2: If defined as a plant storage tank cluster, should liquids of Class A B, Class B, and Class C A still be unloaded using submersible loading nozzles? Question 3: Is it compliant to directly unload Class A liquids B, C, and A using tank trucks? I humbly seek advice from all the experts! Thank you!

You only have a capacity of 30 cubic meters; it depends on where your tank cluster is located – whether it’s near the production facilities or within the tank area. Those located near the production units can certainly be considered as unit storage tanks. Refer to Standard 5.2.22: 2. Not required; 3. It definitely complies – it needs to be transferred into the storage tanks in the tank farm.
First of all, thank you for your reply. I have 5 cryogenic tanks, all with a capacity of less than 30 cubic meters, and the total capacity is no more than 100 cubic meters. Its function is to supply a mixed refrigerant to the production unit, and it must not be too far away from the unit. But aren’t the regulations meant to impose constraints based on the fire hazard classification of the medium? Wasn’t there any emphasis on specific limitations regarding container size either? Also, when using a tank truck, is it necessary to unload the cargo at a distance of 15 meters from the tank wall? Thank you for your advice!
There are no such constraints; process units and storage tanks are both acceptable. 5.2.22 The total capacity required is specified. Is your unloading point the pump house, the pump set, or a single pump?
The specifications refer to a loading system; yours is a unloading system – they are not the same thing, so there’s no need to consider what you mentioned
First, your license has expired. Secondly, 6.4.2(6) states that for the loading and unloading of liquids of Classes A B and C A, submersible loading/unloading nozzles should be used.
The specifications were written incorrectly; later, a corrigendum was issued in which the unloading process was removed, stating that only loading requires an underwater loading dip pipe.
