It's sufficient to focus on maintaining the balance of pressure. Wherever the dryer discharges its contents, it will be at the same pressure as that location; if it discharges to the ground, it will be at the same pressure as the atmosphere, and the atmosphere is drawn in to facilitate discharge while breaking the vacuum. I don’t know your techniques; it’s just a guess.
