Why is purified air used for atomization in waste acid spray guns? Can’t unpurified air be used instead?
Spray drying, concentration? Or something else? By purification here, it refers to oil and water removal, right? (I produce waste acid, and I also work with compressed air; I don’t use spray concentration.) Some colleagues have used the spray process to concentrate waste acid; it depends on your specific process. Guess: If it’s heavy with water, especially in summer. It may increase the subsequent load, and if the acid concentration is high, the temperature could surge during mixing. Removing oil and water from compressed air isn’t particularly difficult; it depends on your process requirements.
This mainly depends on the requirements of the patent holder. One cannot rely solely on surface appearances; overall, there is not much difference between unfiltered air and filtered air, but in reality, even minor differences can affect the lifespan of the nozzles.
With you saying that, it must be a problem with the nozzle. In the wet sulfuric acid process, the flue gas needs to be humidified in order to remove impurities, so water shouldn’t be such a concern
