A self-priming pump (with water inside the casing) is installed at a project in the northeast. For insulation purposes, and since the owner does not allow the use of electric heating, heating water is used for heating. If the siphon tank uses a coil for heating water and the pump casing uses a jacket for heating water, the cost of the pump is very high. I was wondering if it’s possible to reduce the specifications slightly. They also asked seniors who are experienced in this type of work how long it takes for such pumps, when used intermittently in the outdoor conditions of the Northeast, to freeze up and stop working
If possible, using a insulated room is usually sufficient. Set up one pump room, chamber, and warehouse. It’s fine if the heating system isn’t that great; there’s no need to make such a fuss about it :)
We are only responsible for the pump; the owner doesn’t want to build a house. I’m thinking, maybe if a casing is used, hot water can be supplied

During the cold seasons in the Northeast region, the lowest temperatures can reach -30 degrees Celsius or even lower; when pumping water-based fluids, there are certainly certain environmental conditions that must be met for proper operation. The insulation enclosure for the pump is designed to resemble a small room, and electric heating is used to warm the circulating water. The pump itself is provided with appropriate insulation, while on the inlet and outlet pipelines of the pump, the insulation layer is extended and thickened to ensure that freezing does not occur under the local minimum temperatures. The insulated hot water is forced to circulate within this small room. Finally, this small room is defined as a large, accessible insulated outer jacket; the price is set at 5 times its cost, and an agreement is signed to get the client’s approval. 70% of the contract amount is paid in advance before work begins.

The two parties, Party A and Party B, are almost equal. If the water pump is indeed designed with a jacket, it will take several hours for the equipment to be damaged due to freezing once the air supply is cut off. This issue is actually quite easy to handle; as long as the owner has sufficient steam, you can simply install two air pipes on the surface of the pump casing – one for intake and one for exhaust. That’s all that’s needed. You might as well give it a try.
Later, the management decided that it didn’t matter to us – whether it was hot water or electric heating used for insulation, the construction party would be responsible for that. This API pump costs over 50,000; if a jacket is added, the cost rises to 80,000. That’s the best we can do :(
