Recently, a unit in a petrochemical refining facility has taken active measures to address the issue of external corrosion in low-temperature pipelines, such as holding regular weekly coordination meetings, providing specialized training, and conducting comprehensive inspections, in order to ensure the safe and reliable operation of these pipelines throughout their entire lifecycle. To date, the department has inspected 182 pipelines, and it is expected that all 791 pipelines will be inspected by the end of October. It is reported that the department has set out specific requirements regarding the scope of the inspection, the contents to be checked, the personnel involved, the methods of inspection, and the standards to be applied. It has compiled a comprehensive list of the low-temperature pipelines in the facilities, developed inspection and rectification plans in a step-by-step manner, and focused on key areas, high-risk zones, and blind spots to thoroughly identify any major potential hazards. The department organizes equipment management personnel to study the latest regulations on insulation in detail, to assist inspectors in keeping up to date with the latest requirements and standardizing the inspection processes. To ensure that every low-temperature pipeline is thoroughly inspected, the department adopts three methods: inspection based on equipment single-line diagrams, inspection based on pipe and instrument diagrams, and inspection based on process responsibility areas. Each pipeline is assigned to a specific person to ensure the smooth progress of the inspection work.
