Jinling Petrochemical’s new low-temperature waste heat power generation project came online. Recently, the distributed low-temperature waste heat ORC (Organic Rankine Cycle) power generation project, developed in collaboration between Jinling Petrochemical and Tianjia Energy, was put into operation. This project uses the low-temperature condensate generated by the wastewater stripping unit at Jinling Petrochemical as a heat source, and generates electricity by recovering waste heat. It has now been successfully connected to Jinling Petrochemical’s power grid, with an annual electricity generation capacity expected to exceed 2 million kWh; it achieves significant savings in costs and expenses, as well as reductions in energy consumption and carbon emissions. This project utilizes radial centrifugal turbine ORC power generation technology, whose isentropic efficiency far exceeds the industry average. It features a skid-mounted design with excellent explosion-proof properties; the turbine and generator are integrated together, and no working fluid needs to be replenished throughout the 20-year operational life cycle, resulting in significantly reduced operating costs over time. Furthermore, the design of this project draws on concepts from aeroengine design, ensuring long-term reliable and stable operation of the unit; it meets the requirements for process safety, and its compact size allows for flexible placement on-site, thereby further reducing the construction time.
