Circulating water cooling towers are divided into cross-flow and counter-flow types. What is the difference between the two? Finally, there is a legend for explanation. Thank you!

There’s no difference; it’s mainly the direction of air convection that varies, and that’s what gives it its name.
Cross-flow cooling towers: 1. Simple structure, easy to maintain and service, and convenient for loading/unloading. 2. Energy-efficient; cooling water does not easily spill outside the cooling tower, and the water pressure at the nozzles of the water distribution system is low. 3. No rotating water distribution devices are required inside cross-flow cooling towers, and the fixed water distribution setup has a long service life. 4. The fans used for heat dissipation are less prone to scaling and algae growth, making them easy to clean. 5. Other emergency cooling measures can be taken when the external temperature is higher than the designed level (such as direct spraying of tap water or using additional fans).
Counter-flow cooling towers: 1. They occupy less space. 2. For the same amount of water, counter-flow cooling towers can achieve a greater temperature difference compared to cross-flow cooling towers. 3. The rotating water distribution devices inside counter-flow cooling towers are prone to getting clogged. 4. Higher requirements are placed on the pumps used to drive these rotating water distribution devices. 5.
