In our company’s liquid nitrogen washing equipment, the pressure difference in the nitrogen washing tower is usually quite high; I think this is due to too much nitrogen being used for washing. But sometimes the pressure difference drops very quickly, causing the liquid level to fall rapidly as well. Then the temperature between the second and third heat exchangers also drops rapidly. I’m not sure how to solve this problem; I would appreciate some advice from those with more experience. Also, what is the general level that everyone’s tower costs are kept at?
What kind of tower do you have? Tray tower or packed tower?
High, by how much exactly, and what kind of processes and equipment are used?
Ours is a Sino-Thai type unit, a tray-type scrubber, with the pressure difference generally required to be less than 40 kPa. Today, the temperature between the second and third heat exchangers returned to normal; only the amounts of raw nitrogen and washing nitrogen were adjusted slightly
In plate towers, if the liquid level is too high, liquid accumulation is likely to occur; in such cases, the pressure difference associated with the liquid level will decrease. Excessive liquid removal can result in heat being carried away, causing the temperature to drop rapidly. It is sufficient to reduce the amount of nitrogen used for washing.
