Why is the interior of the reactor and column skirt exposed without insulation? Won’t doing this affect thermal efficiency? It’s essentially equivalent to allowing heat to dissipate freely into the atmosphere, thereby increasing energy consumption for no reason. Is it because of some other reason? Affect the reaction? Affect operations? Are there requirements regarding the thermal expansion and contraction of the equipment itself? Or it may have a negative impact on the circulating water and air-cooling systems on the backside, affecting the temperature of the storage tank. If insulation can be used, can energy consumption be significantly reduced? ? ? ! ! !
Insulation outside the skirt base? Is that for fire protection?
The skirt base provides support and stability to the container; it does not come into direct contact with the material, so no insulation is required.
I’m not talking about insulation for the skirt; both the column and the bottom of the reactor have heads, and some also have extraction pipelines.

If the tower needs to be insulated, the lower head of the tower within the skirt also requires insulation; the relevant design specifications can be found in standard 6.5.2. Insulation not only reduces heat loss but also decreases the thermal stress at the head and the skirt cylinder.

If the rest of the equipment is insulated, the lower head must also be insulated; it’s shown in the diagram under 7.3.7 in SH-3098
