For an acetic acid distillation tower with a diameter of 600, what type of tray should be used? Reason? What material should be used for the tower?
A tray tower with a diameter of 600? It should be at least 800, otherwise how can people operate it inside?
I have not carried out acetic acid distillation before, but I think using a packed tower with a diameter of 600 would result in lower costs.
Packed towers are more suitable; for plate towers, the tower needs to be divided into sections.

Is the acetate system prone to complexation? It is recommended to use a type of tray with anti-self-agglomeration function, made of material at least as high-grade as titanium; of course, this also depends on the water content
With a tower of 600 units, it is quite difficult to use trays; it’s more convenient to connect the trays in a string-like configuration similar to that of sugar-coated fruits, which makes the processing process somewhat challenging. It might be advisable to design it as a packed tower, with Monel as a reference material
I just completed a 500-capacity acetic acid tower; the tower body is made of titanium. To save costs, graphite Pall rings were used as the packing material.
It is better to use structured packing in the 600 tower
