Hello everyone, the alkali scrubber uses an alkaline solution with a concentration of around 10% to remove acidic gases. When the concentration of this alkaline solution drops to 2% (with a pH of about 13.5), new 10% alkaline solution is added to the discharge fluid; Is an industrial pH meter suitable for such operating conditions? When I was a senior technician back then, just like you, we used coke, oxygen, and carbon dioxide to produce gas; the CO content in the resulting gas was over 90%, the oxygen content was below 0.1%, and the carbon dioxide content was around 1.0%. The gas was then absorbed using an alkali tower. 31% ion-exchange membrane alkali was added to the alkali tank to adjust the water content to around 18%, and an alkali pump was used to circulate the solution. When the alkali concentration dropped below 10%, the absorption efficiency decreased and the carbon dioxide level in the gas increased, at which point it was time to replace the alkali solution; Generally, when a pH meter is used, the absorption of alkalis releases heat, and this can be detected with soda ash; however, your sample isn’t suitable for this purpose as it’s impure. It’s likely that only online titration instruments can detect such things, and the investment required is in the hundreds of thousands. It would be better to install an acid-base titration device in the operation room, where samples can be analyzed once a day ;
