On December 23, 2019, the ethylene unit quenching oil tower with a diameter of 13.2 meters, a hoisting weight of 1,674 tons, and a total height of 64 meters was slowly lifted into the air and successfully placed in place for the second phase of the Zhejiang Petrochemical Project. At 16:18 on the 23rd, with the whistle of two large crawler cranes of 3,200 tons and 1,250 tons, the 2,000-ton lifting beam completely designed by CNNC Machinery carried the 13.2-meter diameter, 1,674-ton hoisting weight, and 64-meter total height of the ethylene unit quenching oil tower of the Zhejiang Petrochemical Phase II project slowly lifted into the air. Then the main crane lifted the hook steadily and slowly, the tail crane raised its tail and moved forward slowly, luffing the luff. At 18:16, the quenching oil tower successfully rotated and stood upright. After that, the sliding tail crane unhooked, the main crane rotated, and the equipment was slowly lifted to the concrete foundation and successfully installed in place. In this quenching oil tower hoisting, the design, calculation, drawing, and manufacturing supervision of the 2,000-ton lifting beam used were all completed by the Technology R&D Center of CNNC Machinery Company. This is another technological breakthrough for CNNC Machinery after it independently designed a 1,500-ton lifting beam and successfully completed the Hengli Petrochemical lifting task. In the hoisting construction of large equipment in the second section of the second phase of Zhejiang Petrochemical's 40 million tons/year refining and chemical integration project, CNNC Machinery was responsible for the preparation of the large equipment hoisting plan for the second section, supply and operation of cranes, provision and connection of slings, hoisting organization and construction, lifting lug design, foundation design and processing, etc., which required comprehensive hoisting design technical capabilities, equipment supply capabilities, and hoisting construction organization and management capabilities.
