In Aspen simulations, what does the pressure at the tower top condenser refer to: the inlet pressure or the outlet pressure?
It refers to the pressure at the outlet of the condenser; the difference between this pressure and the pressure at the top of the tower represents the pressure drop across the condenser
To be precise, none of them qualify, as it does not take into account the pressure drop issue; it simply treats the condenser as a theoretical tray and calculates the theoretical pressure drop per tray. If we are to be exact, it refers to the pressure at the outlet of the reflux tank
