Can precise temperature control of the distillation tower improve product quality? Plate towers are straightforward, but how is a packed tower designed in practice?

A similar concept applies to packed towers as well; it is possible to control the temperature of the second section of the tower from the top, and this temperature can be treated as that of a sensitive plate. It is recommended to link this control with the flow rate of the product being extracted.

Are there requirements for the process products, feed composition, tower pressure, and overall tower temperature distribution?
For the packed tower, it will also provide you with two intermediate points; you can use the second temperature from the bottom up. By using this value, you can determine the amount of evaporation occurring. If it’s too low, the material does not meet the requirements, and it’s difficult to achieve sufficient reflux; if it’s too high, it results in waste of heat energy, along with excessive reflux. Moreover, the temperature at this point doesn’t have to be exact – there will be some fluctuations depending on the properties of the material
