There were no significant changes in the tower’s feed rate, the level of liquid in the flash tank, the pressure, the top pressure of the tower, or the amount of steam at the bottom of the tower. The sudden drop of over ten units in the liquid level was it due to a high concentration of hydrocarbons in the feed coming from upstream? If that’s the case, then the pressure in the flash tank should also have changed
Your analysis is reasonable; the temperature of the flash tank remains unchanged, and the pressure change is not significant. If the liquid level decreases while the feed rate remains stable, it must be that there is more vapor in the top of the tower, as well as more light components in the feed.

We can check what’s wrong with the gauge measurement points; we’ve encountered similar problems here recently. Upon inspection, it was found that one of the flange surfaces of the gauge’s double flange had deformed, which caused fluctuations in the liquid level indication!

1. Is the instrument accurate? 2. Is the material balance of the entire tower in equilibrium?; 3. Is the tray unobstructed (that is, are the gas and liquid flow paths inside the tower continuous)? 4. Is the solvent foaming? ; Suggestions: 1. Allow some more acidic water to be discharged from the top of the tower ; 2. Solvent-enhanced filtration ;
Is there a pressure gauge for the regeneration tower or a gauge for the bottom pressure of the tower? If there’s no change, check the gauge.
With a large gas phase, should the pressure at the top of the tower be high?
What about the amount of acidic gas? You can check the valve position of the separator. What is the differential pressure of the regeneration tower? If foaming becomes severe, the amount of steam will change. It’s likely that it’s liquid retention.
Hello, do you mean that the liquid level dropped suddenly? Can we check whether the amine solution is foaming?
